Information notice on the use of electronic surveillance system

Dear Guests

We hereby wish to inform you that Science Projekt Kft. operates an electronic surveillance system (surveillance camera system) at the Science Hotel located at 6722 Szeged, Petőfi S. sgt. 17. The electronic surveillance systems of the hotel are operated by the employees of Szetel Bt.

Please be informed that video and audio recording and the use and keeping of such recordings are governed by the provisions of Act CXXXIII of 2005 on Security Services and the Activities of Private Investigators (Security Services Act) and the provisions of Act CXII of 2011 on Informational Self-Determination and Freedom of Information (Privacy Act). The electronic surveillance system is operated on the basis of explicit consent under Article 30(2) of the Security Services Act in accordance with the following to protect human life, physical safety and property, to prevent or detect any infringement or accident, to capture perpetrator(s) and to provide evidence for any committed infringement. We would like to call your attention to the fact that, having received this information, entering any of the premises under video surveillance shall be deemed an expressed consent to data management.

Scope of the managed data: facial image and voice of guests on video and audio recordings, other personal data.

The electronic surveillance system is operated 24 hours on every day of the week, and the recordings are stored on the server located in the premises of the security service for 3 working days.

For the safe management of personal data the protection of data stored on the server is ensured by personal user names and passwords to be able to establish which authorised user accessed the data and when.

The persons authorised to view the actual images of the cameras include the employees of Science Projekt Kft. holding such authorisation. The recordings of the cameras may be viewed by the manager or the deputy manager of the hotel, or in their absence by the acting manager on duty.

The recordings stored by the camera surveillance and recording system operated by Science Projekt Kft. may only be inspected by the persons authorised to do so in order to obtain evidence of any violation of human life, physical safety or property, to identify the perpetrators of such incidents, and to detect any other event or accident concerning life or physical integrity.

Science Projekt Kft. keeps record of any incidents involving the inspection of the video and audio recordings, the names of the persons carrying out such inspections, and the reason and time of accessing data.

Data may be transmitted only in case of ongoing proceedings concerning unlawful conduct or violation of obligation for the acting authorities and courts. The scope of the transferred data may include recordings by the camera system containing relevant information and the names of persons seen or heard on the recordings.

Please be informed that any persons whose rights or lawful interests may be affected by the video and audio recordings may request a copy of the recordings made of them by the electronic surveillance system, and may also request the deletion of such recordings in accordance with the relevant legal provisions. Furthermore, any person whose rights or lawful interests may be affected by the video and audio recordings may request Science Projekt Kft. not to destroy or delete such recordings within 3 working days from the date of recording upon certifying the relevant right or lawful interest of that person.
Furthermore, please be informed that information on the management of your personal data may be requested from Science Projekt Kft. at any time. You may also request your personal data to be corrected or blocked in accordance with the applicable legal provisions, or object to the management of such data.

We would like to inform you that in case of any violation of your rights you may take legal action in accordance with the relevant legal provisions. Furthermore, by contacting the National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information you may request an investigation on the grounds that the management of personal data resulted in an infringement, or there is an immediate threat thereof.

Premises under camera surveillance (based on number of camera):

I. First group of cameras

Surveillance cameras monitoring the outside entrances and the parking area of the hotel with an aim to protect the cars deposited in the parking facility.

The cameras are directed at the following areas:

Street-side (monitor 1, camera No. 9)
Street-side (monitor 1, camera No. 10)
Entrance to parking facility (monitor 1, camera No. 11)
Underground parking facility (monitor 1, camera No. 13)
Underground parking facility (monitor 1, camera No. 14)
Underground parking facility (monitor 1, camera No. 15)


II. Second group of cameras

Surveillance cameras monitoring the lobby bar, the conference hall and other spaces open to guests in the hotel. The primary aim of surveillance is to protect the hotel’s properties, stocks and equipment, as well as any items brought into the hotel by the guests, with special regard to monitoring the entrances, reception area and common spaces of the hotel. Surveillance is aimed also at the prevention of accidents in the common areas of the hotel and the detection of their circumstances.

The cameras are directed at the following areas:

Reception, lobby bar (monitor 1, camera No. 5)
Reception, lobby bar (monitor 1, camera No. 6)
Conference hall (monitor 1, camera No. 3)
Conference hall (monitor 1, camera No. 4)

III. Third group of cameras

Surveillance cameras monitoring the staircases, upstairs corridors and other spaces open to guests in the hotel. The primary aim of surveillance is to protect the hotel’s properties, stocks and equipment, as well as any items brought into the hotel by the guests, with special regard to monitoring the common spaces. Surveillance is aimed also at the prevention of accidents in the common areas of the hotel and the detection of their circumstances. Furthermore, the location of the surveillance cameras in the common spaces is aimed at the protection of valuables frequently left unattended by the guests.

The cameras are directed at the following areas:
